About Us
After years of gardening, I received my Master Gardening Certification from the Clemson Cooperative Extension Service in April 2001. With 40 hours of classroom instruction with a concentration in horticulture, soil management, landscaping, integrated pest management and a “green” approach to gardening, we were also given field experience and training in the pruning of shrubs and fruit bearing trees and plants. After passing a rigorous exam, I completed the last part of my training by returning over 40 hours back to the community, 10 hours of which included research on plant diseases and general problem solving for the general public at the extension service agency office. As well, I participated in community gardening and landscaping projects as a member of the South Carolina Master Gardener’s organization, Women’s Club of Rock Hill, SC and as chairperson of my homeowners' association Beautification Committee.
